today we went to Eide to get some xmas cakey stuff for mary, and me to buy some yarn to make alex's grandmother something nice for xmas since she's so generous with us.

in the store mary went to, they were selling fancy marzipan shaped like... fruits and pigs!
i thought they looked awesome, and the pigs hilarious XD. The fruit reminded me of some snack i used to eat... it has this jelly like outside, and sweet yellow pasty thing on the inside. it was also decorated and colored like fruit. Anyone know what its called?

The shop in Eide that sells yarn also sells clothes for men, women and children. one particular shirt i just had to take a pic of. maybe if i buy it, wear it and take a pic, post it up... more people would read this huh? hahaha
really tired so this is kept short. the last two days i've been standing on my feet from 8:30 to 3:30, except for the short lunch break and two 10 minute breaks. i've been wrapping, wrapping, wrapping.
yeah and that pic dont even show half of whats wrapped. they are wrapped in xmas paper then wrapped in brown paper for mailing btw. whee.

gonna spend the rest of my day sitting down!

alvin, the first to start winning something in his advent calendars! From experience, a calendar can win multiple times so he has a fair chance of winning more, yay! His big advent calendar is also the first to get two of the same pics in this house, and its of an Xmas wreath, which is worth 200 or 500 nkr i think.
Then i did Mary's nails a day ago i think, and she liked what i had on mine so she requested the snowflakes and snowman. wheee heeheeehe so cute
ok gotta go get ready, slept alot yesterday cuz i was so tired XD did a good bit of xmas shopping with mary too, poor robert waited in the car about 2 hours.

*is humoured by posting a pic of her toesies* i got a couple of new colors to play with and they were perfect for getting dots on.

when i showed my hubby, he went '...dots!'

For the first time i painted different designs on each of my nails. i usually like them all uniform. But i get so happy looking at them because it screams

CHRISTMAS IS COMING WOOHOO!
in this house, EVERYBODY loves fattybums. well, human at least. And because of us cuddling-craving homosapiens, this fatty critter never gets unbroken hours of sleep. One of us is always picking him up to cuddle XD hehehe

The cats arent used to cuddling on the sofa with Mary though, and she says its because she almost never does it there. Now Robert on the other hand....
When you connect the dots, its hilarious. I think all but lilo has slept there with him on the sofa XD

i couldnt resist taking the next picture because i couldnt help thinking they were so similar XD. Flysa was very determined to sleep on him btw, climbing all over till she found a spot she could sleep and balance on wahaha
It was indeed a very lazy evening last night, as we all had the ultimate carbo bomb- potatoballs!!

So 3 of us were lying on the couches resting, talking, sleeping.

Top it off with a funny pic of max being used as a cat bolster and still sleeping despite it XD. robert saw it and called for me to take a pic XD
finally its all white outside now, having snowed the night before. But this afternoon it rained, so i doubt i'll be walking outside today although i'm tempted to walk to the postbox. Lately when i feel cold i go down to the basement gym and cycle for 10 minutes XD healthy way to get warm again, until the sweat evaporates and i start sneezing my head off around the house.

lastly, i opened the fridge today and saw a compartment full of eggs and couldnt help commenting 'wah what an army of eggs!'. Then came a cheeky idea...

i cant wait to see/hear my in laws' reactions. or alex's XD (most probably 'dots!'). it was quickly drawn on, although i was tempted to paint army hats and faces etc.

i'll try upload some videos soon, but it wont be of me XD. hope everyone is well.

cats ahoy

its a stormy sunday, and shops are closed on sundays so its a day to be indoors. So i sit around crocheting, surfing, helping out mary with her new bathroom, rage cutting my nails because one broke in a way so neat i asked alex if he had cut my nail in my sleep.

no i wasnt REALLY serious, i think.

i chanced upon the cutest thing i've seen the cats here do though XD And its.... quite rare because in his 15 years (yes, FIFTEEN!), Max has never let any other cat do this with him according to robert. and they've had their fair share of cats in 15 years ( persians do not live as long). For a superold cat, max is certainly very healthy with no balding patches of fur and really healthy teeth. But he's also an expensive cat with prize winning parents, hence good genetics i guess!
fattybums is actually sleeping ON max's legs, and hugging them too XD
occasionally i go around grabbing fattybums to cuddle him because he's just like having a toy. you can really see how at ease he is, and i just HAD to take a pic cuz i thought his leg posture was hilarious. i have no comment on my dazed expression.
And when he gets bored....
XD yeah that pic is just hilarious to me XD. He was sleeping on his paw below, and the flash kinda got him to open his eyes XD
i shall end this post with max again, because its so funny when he just lies on his back and acts all cute on his own XD. He doesnt do it because he's acting cute, he does it because its comfy and he likes it.

Elnesvaagen

Today we went to Elnesvaagen (spelt with two 'a's because i'm using my own laptop, not a norwegian one) to do some shopping. It was instigated by me-who-hasnt-gone-out-in-a-week-other-than-work-or-grocery-store. So even though its a small area with less than 20 shops around including eateries and 7-11 type store, it was at least still something XD kinda makes me miss Tampines. y'know, 3 big malls in one little area.

Took a pic of myself before i headed out the door. gotta love the full wall to floor sliding mirror doors that make their coat and shoe cupcoard next to the front door XD.
i think in that area, there's only two stores i'm actually interested in looking inside. Europris, which is pretty much like Giant minus the perishable groceries but has yarn. Then there's Nille, a cheap store by norwegian standards selling a variety of home items.

Now that its the xmas period, Nille was selling lots of xmas stuff and i quite liked these XD..


i'd love to hang up all three and see if santa leaves me poop in them.

There was something else i saw in Europris today that i really REALLY liked alot, but they only stored boxes with bloody red ribbons. Its all glass btw. i want the purple oneeeeeee.
however i think i have this sudden fancy for these boxes because i recently saw a tiffany porcelain giftbox and it just looked so...pretty.and while i'm veering off to talk about pretty things, i might as well add in my recent acquisitions from ebay last month.
hohohoho, it matches the glitter perfectly X)

cats and nails

i mentioned earlier that lilo does NOT get along with any other cats other than tobias and perhaps max. However, toss all the cats out on a stormy windy night and they seek one common place for shelter they can access - the washroom.

So come morning, alex found lilo along with the other cats huddled in the washroom, and now she's stopped hissing and threatening the kittens whenever they approach her. in fact, she lets them smell her even. only thing though is she wont share her food until she's had her fill. she hissed at fattybums twice when he tried to get some of her food (so greedy! he just had FISH!) and The Look. Eventually she got somewhat okay with him sharing though. Good thing for the kittens they're...too stupid to be aggressive? XD given their bigger weight than lilo, i told alex they probably can take her on in a fight, but he says she has 'street credit,yo' since she gets in fights with other cats in trondheim XD...

so thats them FINALLY at peace with each other, those half siblings. Very similar faces and voices, not to mention color patterns.

Then came doing nails for mary! set up a little workstation to spend the next hour ++ doing her nails XD
the eventual result was really pretty though! i'm so glad (and relieved) she likes them alot :D

only booboo i made was to place the flowers abit too high on all the nails.
but unless i mention it you wouldnt know ya? her nails are quiet yellow underneath so the pink polish she bought while on holiday looked naturally beautiful ^^

pre xmas haul

The in laws came back from gran canaria today. In my opinion it was not an optimal holiday since one day was lost due to the storms and the planes were unable to take off, and another day was lost because mary caught some bad virus that made her puke alot and spend a day in bed in hospital. It was so bad she got 3 jabs and an IV drip O.o

Despite their shortened holiday, they still managed to catch a few days of sunbathing and shopping, and i'm quite thankful there's a big haul for me! X) its not even xmas yet!

So first up, she says to me as she passes this over 'i know you like this so i got it for you'
yes, she was referring to the hello kitty. the santa is for alex, who is pretty much the grinch when it comes to xmas decor.

then she whipped out this really cool bracelet i never expected anyone older than me to give~

So cool right? and to think i was thinking of a snake bracelet just last month hehehe. then she fished out a chunky ring in black and white :D again, hooray for me because i wanted chunky rings that would match my nails hohohoand i got a bling bling purple (surprise!) watch which she saw in the inflight magazine for 40 euros or something. The seller gave her the bag for free because she mentioned it was a gift. Very useful, i almost ebayed myself a small cosmetic bag but decided to use my handbags lying around instead. This will prove MUCH more useful XD
she also bought me two belts, since i requested she get me one since its much cheaper there and my belt that actually holds my pants up is quite worn out.

and all alex got was a belt from her, and that santa. X) hohoho merry xmas, i'm so loved. XD well its not like he needs much other stuff from there i guess XD

now on to fattybums again. i have to say he is REALLY relaxed. robert demonstrates by showing how relaxed that fatty is in just ONE ARM. i think any normal cat would freak out due to the insecurity and height? the way he is, you'd think he was on a portable manservant sofa.

well in fattybums' head, robert probably is.

but when you interact and carry your cats alot from young, i think the trust
now someone (GRACE!) was nagging how she wants to see my face. but i dont like to blog my face. but to humour this person (GRACE!) i got mary to take a pic of me carrying fattybums. he's fun to carry that way. its like a baby that wont cry in your face or whose poop you'd have to wipe from its ass. just bearing with the occasional farts while you're carrying him.

now i cant leave out mentioning his brother, fatty2. who is pretty 'smart'. i remember saying to alex when they were younger that they were so stupid i loved it. XD

this morning as we were leaving for work, fatty2 was on the balcony door wanting in. The main door on the first floor where we were at is directly under this balcony. So when fatty2 heard us leaving, he mewed and tried to... i dont know. get to us?

and if that aint smart enough, thats what he tried a FEW times next. i have no idea what he was trying to do from one floor up. 'grab my hand!' maybe? go figure.
shall blog again soon, and it will be about nails :P at least its not mine? and cats. when i find something else interesting to blog about, i shall. now that the in laws are back, perhaps we'll get to go other places and i'll try be abit more interesting then!
